The term 'community anchor' refers to a certain kind of independent community-run and led organisation, rooted in a sense of place (whether an inner city neighbourhood or a rural district), and with a mission to improve things for the whole community, not simply a part of it.
This booklet is a collection of think-pieces produced by the Community Alliance partners and supported by a grant from the Office of the Third Sector. They do not represent the formal policy positions of our organisations. They are rather intended to stimulate debates and highlight some challenges, so that as we enter an uncertain future we do so with our eyes wide open, our minds reflective, and our hearts ever hopeful.
