On the 27th January Somers Town Community Association and St.Luke’s Parochial Trust hosted a tour for Kevin Brennan, Minister for the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) and senior staff from the OTS and DCLG.
Chief Executive of St. Luke’s, Martyn Craddock, said ‘St Luke’s is proud of its swift response to the hardships people are facing, and the Minister was particularly interested in our community event ‘Cracking the Credit Crunch’ held last November.’
This visit gave both hosts an opportunity to discuss the real challenges faced by community anchors at this time, but also to showcase the impact of their work in their local communities.
Neil Smith, Policy Manager at the OTS said, ‘We were all impressed by the quality and breadth of services available, and by the responsive nature of the organisations – anticipating and seeing needs, responding accordingly, working with other important partners to strengthen and support their communities.’
